ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS

Homefront America offers year-round programs to help enhance the quality of life for military families.  The programs focus on meeting the emotional and social development needs of the children, especially during deployment separation.

“Many of the children we serve have experienced or are currently experiencing the absence of a parent, and in some cases, the absence of both parents due to deployment,” according to Art Hasselbrink, a WWII and Korean War Seabee, and President/Co-Founder of Homefront America.  “It is not uncommon to see six or more deployments since 09/11.”

Our programs are funded entirely by private citizens.  These patriots share our passion to serve those who give so much to preserve our freedoms.  And, it is through their kindness and generosity that make it possible for us to do what we do.  We are truly blessed and deeply grateful for their support.

AMERICAN PATRIOT FREEDOM SCHOLARSHIPS

Since 2006, One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($105,000.00) in scholarships have been awarded to assist military dependent children in their pursuit of excellence.  Awardees are selected based on essays submitted on topics chosen by the organization.  The scholarships may be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies, or room and board expenses.  The organization is currently seeking to establish an endowment in an effort to perpetuate this much need program.  For more information Click Here.

HOMEFRONT EASTER 

This program brings smiles to both adults and children alike.  Sponsors delight in making the baskets, and the children overjoyed in receiving them.   

The program provides each registered child with an Easter basket Custom Made with love and filled with goodies.  In addition to receiving an Easter basket, children also enjoy an Easter egg hunt.  To view past Homefront Easter events, please click here.

BACK TO SCHOOL “PACK FOR SUCCESS” 

What better way to help empower our little Marines, Sailors, Airmen, and Soldiers, than to provide them with the tools they need to succeed in life.  The program provides each registered child with a backpack filled with the necessary school supplies to help him/her succeed.  Each backpack is custom tailored to the child’s gender and age.  This ensures that a kindergartener does not receive protractor, or a high schooler receives a box of crayons.  To view past Back to School “Pack for Success” events, please click here.

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES 

Every child loves to dress up.  This is especially true on Halloween.  To ensure that our little Goblins and Ghouls will have the opportunity to dress up in their favorite Super Hero or Princess outfits, Homefront America and their supporters are there to help provide this need. 

HOMEFRONT CHRISTMAS 

Our sponsors never cease to amaze us with their outpouring of love and support for our military families.  Their kindness and generosity go beyond the words “spirit of giving.”   Their support has made it possible for us to reach out to countless military families during the holiday season with gifts and meals. 

To ensure that “no child is left behind,” the organization sponsors two different programs during the holiday season.  Homefront Santa and Gifts for our Little Unsung Heroes. 

Homefront Santa endeavors to match Sponsors to military families; and Gifts for our Little Unsung Heroes provides each registered child with unwrapped toys or gift cards. In addition, holiday meals for families are also provided.
